How does it work?
It’s simple and easy. Just follow these few steps and begin calling!
For residential users :
- 1. Click on the Home and Home + Square in the Home Page
- 2. Choose Home or Home + Features
- 3. Select your country of residence
- 4. Pick your minute pack, the higher the credit you choose, the greater the reduction in price.
- 5. Select your telephone country code and area code, you may choose to skip that option, and not have any phone number or keep your current number.
- 6. Select your IP device, IP phone, adapter or router.
- 7. Subscribe
- 8. Choose your method of payment
- 9. Once payment is received, your IP device will be shipped
- 10. Plug & Call.
What do I need?
In order to use IPness, you will need the following:
- A broadband high-speed internet connection such as cable or xDSL.
- An IP device, SIP compatible, either a telephone adapter (ATA) to connect your own telephone or an IP phone. You may purchase that IP device at IPness or anywhere in the world.
- Register as an IPness client by choosing your minute-pack and credit your account.
How does the sound quality compare to my current phone?
Voice quality depends on your Internet Bandwidth speed, you can test your connection on our Web site, if your bandwidth is sufficient, you will have an excellent voice quality.
Is IPness service available in my area?
IPness telephony service is available anywhere there is a Broadband connection.
Is Internet service included?
IPness does not provide internet access. IPness is compatible with all ISPs except for ClearWire which refuses to open their service for Voice over IP.
Do I have to cancel my local phone service to use IPness?
No, IPness uses your Internet connection to place voice over IP calls and has no impact on your local phone service. Even if you use a phone line for your ADSL broadband connection, IPness works independently of your local phone service.
Can I keep my current phone number and use IPness number on the same phone?
Yes, depending on the IP device you choose, you can have your current PSTN line and IPness number ringing on your regular phone.
How many phone numbers can I have on my IP Phone or IP device ?
You can have as many phone numbers as you wish, ringing on the same phone, you can choose numbers from different countries as well.
When calling other parties, do they also need IPness or another voice over IP service?
No, IPness is a full telephony service, allowing you to use your phone just like you always have; you can call any number in the world.
Do I need a router?
If you're just using your broadband phone service account for IPness and using the Web, then in most cases you won't need a router. If you are a company using a network or a home user with multiple devices that use your broadband account, you may need a router.
Do I need a computer to use IPness?
No, the phone adaptor or IP phone will connect directly to your modem or router.
Will I be able to use IPness's voice over IP service with my existing networking equipment?
Yes, as long has your router is configured properly; IPness will work with your existing network, you might have to open some ports on your firewall if you can’t register.
Can I use a voice over IP phone that I purchased from another supplier?
Yes, IPness supports most types of IP phones devices, but doesn’t guarantee that service will work with all devices.
